The School of Music at University of Utah offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees in Music and Music Theory. Located in beautiful Salt Lake City, the School of Music at University of Utah prides itself for being an 'all Steinway school'.
According to the school's web site, the Bachelor of Music degree is devoted to the prospect of a professional career in music. Concentrations include Classical Guitar Performance, Music Composition, the History of Music and Musically related Literature, Instrumental Performance, including Performance Piano, Jazz Composition, Jazz Performance, including Performance Jazz Piano, Music Education, Choral Music, Music Education with Instrumental emphasis, Music Theory, Organ Performance, Piano Performance, Vocal Performance.
In addition to the Bachelor of Music degree, the School of Music also offers an undergraduate Minor in General Music Education.
For Graduate degrees, the School of Music at University of Utah offers a PhD in Music Composition and a PhD in Music Education. Also offered is a Masters in Music in Musicology, Music History and Literature, Choral Conducting, Instrumental Conducting, Instrumental Performance, Including Performance Piano, Music Education, Collaborative Piano, Vocal Performance, Music Composition, Music Theory and Jazz Performance and Composition.
Although the School offers courses in Music Technology, advanced Piano Literature, Piano Pedagogy, they do not offer courses on piano repair, piano refinishing, piano restoration, piano technology or piano tuning.
